In the context of the exhibition Cities and Eyes (Fridman Gallery, NYC) Anouk Focquier in collaboration with Columbia University organizes a panel discussion on the theme of artistic generosity, the act of being generous in a highly competitive artistic landscape.

As artists navigate an increasingly exclusive art world, how does sharing resources, knowledge or simply one’s practice with a large audience create more inclusivity of lesser known practices and audiences? This discussion brings together international and US-based artists featured in the exhibition program to explore how collaboration and generosity can act as forms of resistance to exclusivity? The panel will also include screenings and performances of participating artists, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.

Participating artists: Younes Baba-Ali (MA/BE), Li Binyuan (CN), Sky Hopinka (USA), Laurie-Anne Jaubert (FR), Diego Lama (PE), Jonas Vansteenkiste (BE)

Screenings: The Ways We Are It (Pierre Coric + Alice Brunnquell) + Tabula Rasa (Laurie-Anne Jaubert)

Performace: Carrousa Sonore (Younes Baba-Ali)
